Increasing connectivity from Bucharest, the airline allocates a second aircraft and relocates more flights to Baneasa Airport, as well as launching six new routes from Otopeni Airport
Wizz Air, EMEA’s most environmentally sustainable airline*, today has announced will allocate a second aircraft to its operational base at Bucharest Baneasa - Aurel Vlaicu International Airport in October this year. With this allocation, the airline relocates nine routes from Otopeni to Baneasa, with five of them to be operated exclusively from Bucharest’s secondary airport. Further expansion will also take place through the addition of six new routes at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport, starting on October 26-28th. This proves Wizz Air’s commitment to offering even more diverse travel options in the upcoming winter season, meeting the growing demand for smart flying.
Bucharest is of crucial importance to Wizz Air, and starting from 26th of October 2025, four routes to Milan Bergamo, Barcelona, Brussels-Charleroi and Turin will be operated from both Otopeni and Baneasa, while other five routes will exclusively be operated from Baneasa to Basel, Frankfurt, Memmingen, Nice and Athens. In total, airline will operate 42 flight frequencies on these nine routes from Baneasa thanks to addition of a second Airbus A321ceo aircraft.
