Wizz Air, Europe’s most sustainable airline, is expanding its network with the new route between Lithuania’s capital Vilnius and the vibrant Hungarian capital, Budapest. Tickets are already available for purchase on wizzair.com and via the official WIZZ app, with fares starting at 24.99€.
Starting on 30 June 2025, the airline will operate flights from Vilnius to Budapest three times a week — on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This expansion adds to the recently announced direct flights from Vilnius to Bergen (three times a week – Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays), Catania (twice a week – Mondays and Fridays), and Billund (twice a week – Thursdays and Sundays).
Budapest, often referred to as the “Pearl of the Danube”, captivates travellers with its centuries-old architecture, lively cultural scene, and world-famous thermal baths. From the UNESCO-listed Buda Castle and Chain Bridge to the vibrant ruin bars and bustling market halls, the Hungarian capital offers an unforgettable blend of history, relaxation, and modern urban life.
“Wizz Air is delighted to expand our Lithuanian network with direct flights to Budapest. Whether you’re drawn by the city’s rich heritage, culinary delights, or energetic nightlife, Budapest promises something for every traveller. We look forward to welcoming passengers onboard and delivering our trademark affordable and convenient travel service” says Gabriele Imperiale, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air.
Since the first Wizz Air flight from Kaunas to Warsaw in 2005, the company has already transported over 12,5 million passengers to and from the country, becoming one of the country’s most popular low-cost airlines. It currently bases two aircraft in Vilnius and offers 15 routes to 12 countries from Lithuania. In its commitment to reducing environmental impact, Wizz Air operates one of the youngest and most fuel-efficient fleets in the industry, further strengthening its reputation as a responsible leader.
