THE AIRLINE STRENGTHENS ITS LEADERSHIP IN THE COUNTRY
Wizz Air, EMEA’s most environmentally sustainable airline*, is delighted to announce further developments of its network in Chisinau, Moldova, for the 2025 winter season. The airline will further expand its operations by allocating the third aircraft in October and introducing six new routes. The development will provide more than 393,000 additional seats on sale to and from Moldova. Tickets are already available on wizzair.com or via the airline’s mobile app, with fares starting from €19.99.
The addition of the new Airbus A320 aircraft to the airline’s Moldovan fleet on 26 October 2025 marks another significant step forward for Wizz Air’s Moldovan operations. Starting today, passengers can already purchase tickets to six new direct flights from Chisinau to Bari, Milan-Bergamo, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, Athens and Billund. Chisinau will also have a direct connection with Maastricht, Netherlands, which will be a new destination across all the Wizz Air network. Four new routes will be operated three times per week, while the connection with Milan-Bergamo and with Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden will be served four times per week. All flights will start from 26 October 2025. Wizz Air is excited to offer more easy and convenient options to visit family members and loved ones, or to enjoy a break in one of these beautiful cities.
Wizz Air’s unwavering commitment to the Moldovan market is highlighted by this ongoing investment aimed at significantly enhancing Moldova’s connectivity with Europe and beyond. This allocation will also allow the airline to enhance connectivity by increasing flight frequencies on two existing routes from Chisinau to Paris Beauvais and Berlin. In total, with the addition of the third aircraft to the base, Wizz Air will provide passengers with direct connections to 27 destinations in 15 countries in the winter, including popular routes to Abu Dhabi, Berlin, Brussels Charleroi, Vienna, Rome, London Luton, and Warsaw.
Wizz Air is dedicated to providing excellent service and further growing its network to meet the needs of its customers. Additionally, Wizz Air is actively recruiting new cabin and flight crew members in Moldova and plan to hire new employees for the base. The next recruitment will happen on 15 April.
Andras Rado, Head of Communicationsat Wizz Air, said: "I am proud that Wizz Air expands so rapidly in Moldova, adding the third aircraft and dozens of new destinations in just 6 months. The today announced new aircraft will bring 393,000 new seats to the market annually for passengers traveling to and from Chisinau. The airline continues to invest in its growth in Moldova, offering more and more affordable travel opportunities, pilot and cabin crew jobs in Moldova. Wizz Air firmly believes in the value of travel as a unique experience and will continue to work to ensure that all travellers have more opportunities to explore the world."
Sergiu Spoiala, Acting Director, Chisinau International Airport, said:
“We are thrilled to strengthen our strategic partnership with Wizz Air through the allocation of a third aircraft to its base in Chișinău. The expansion of flight routes and increased frequencies bring tangible benefits to our passengers—more accessible and convenient travel options, whether for vacations, family visits, or business trips—while also stimulating the local economy.
