THIRD BASED AIRCRAFT, SIX NEW ROUTES, OVER 500,000 EXTRA SEATS
Wizz Air, one of Poland’s leading airlines, announces a bold expansion at Wrocław Airport. In addition to the airline’s already-announced upcoming network additions of Gran Canaria, Catania, and Ohrid, Wizz Air will base a third modern Airbus A321neo aircraft in the city starting June 2026. This will unlock fresh opportunities for travelers with three exciting, completely new routes—to Reykjavik, Dortmund, and Varna—and more flights on popular existing services to Barcelona, Bari, Tirana, and Malaga. Tickets are already on sale at wizzair.com and via the WIZZ mobile app.
Since first taking off from Wrocław in 2006, Wizz Air has carried close to 7 million passengers to and from the city, steadily strengthening its presence. Now, with a third Airbus A321neo arriving in June 2026, the airline is set to add even more connections, boost capacity, and bring its network to 22 routes across 17 countries. This major investment reflects Wizz Air’s long-term commitment to Wrocław Airport and the wider Lower Silesia region—delivering stronger regional connectivity, more travel options, and ongoing support for jobs, tourism, and business growth. With one of the youngest and most efficient fleets, Wizz Air continues to deliver affordable fares and travel experience across the region
From January to October 2025, Wizz Air operated over 50,000 flights to and from Poland, carrying over 11 million passengers—an impressive almost 20% increase versus the same period in 2024—at a 99.8% completion rate demonstrating the airline’s operational reliability and growth momentum.
At today’s press conference in Wrocław, Wizz Air Chief Executive Officer József Váradi said: “Today marks another milestone for Wrocław and for Poland. By adding a third aircraft, launching three new routes, and increasing frequencies on existing favourites, we are continuing our ambitious growth plans in the country, bringing even more choice, low fares, and flexibility for our passengers. This expansion is a testament to our commitment: to deliver simple, affordable, and enjoyable travel while fuelling regional growth and creating more jobs both directly with the airline and in the associated industries. We look forward to welcoming even more travellers on board and strengthening Poland’s connectivity and sustainable development.”
With today's announcement, Wizz Air will now offer 500 thousand additional seats on 22 routes to 17 countries from Wroclaw, including recently added Nice, Gran Canaria, Madrid, Chisinau, Basel and many more.
